    Financial Controller | Consumer-Led start up

    Up to £95k Base Salary + Bonus + Wider benefits

    Central London - Hybrid working

    STOIX are delighted to have been retained by a growing consumer start up that has already established a strong brand within the luxury consumer market. This is a strong succession planning opportunity with the idea of becoming the number 1 within finance, following the Consulting CFO's exit in the coming months. You will have great autonomy and independence to shape the function as you see fit.

    Overview:

    The Financial Controller will lead the financial reporting and control function for the business, ensuring that the company meets its statutory and regulatory requirements and that financial risks are identified and managed effectively as they continue to grow. You will report to the Co-Founders of the business, ensuring they are kept well informed on financial matters, and play a pivotal role as they look to seek further investment in the months to come.     The role:

    Financial Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation of the group's financial statements in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the board and other stakeholders
    • Manage the year-end audit process and coordinate the preparation of the annual report

    Financial Control:

    • Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate financial and operational risks
    • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and on a timely basis
    • Maintain a strong internal control environment and implement improvements where necessary

    FP&A

    • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with other senior stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment with the company's strategic goals
    • Monitor performance against budget and forecast, and provide regular updates to the CFO and other stakeholders

    Cash Management:

    • Manage the company's cash flow and ensure that sufficient funding is available to meet the business's needs
    • Monitor the company's working capital requirements and implement improvements to optimize cash flow

    Leadership:

    • Initially, manage one Assistant Accountant - Foster a culture of continuous improvement and champion the personal development of team members

    Non-negotiables

    • You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with significant PQE.
    • We are interested in talking to Finance leaders with a proven track record in start-up/scale-up environments.
    • Dynamics 365 is a must
    • We are very open to sector experience but candidates with experience gained in the consumer space will have an advantage.
    • You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders across functions and at all levels of the business
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage financial risks.
