    Description

    Canepa Global Managers is seeking an investment analyst to undertake a key role in a growing investment analysis / value creation function working closely with the investment team, finance team and COO function. The role will have broad responsibility for a variety of tasks relating to investment and performance analysis, due diligence of investment managers, support for the investment team and the wider functions of CGM's business.

    Core Responsibilities

    Portfolio investment managers / prospects

    Investment / performance analysis

    • Assist with performance / risk analysis of portfolio managers' and prospects' funds
    • Collect information on portfolio managers' and prospects' funds, performance, AUM, subscriptions, etc.
    • Assist in obtaining and maintaining benchmark and peer performance data (identification of peers and sourcing of information)
    • Support investment team in preparation of investment reports, meeting notes and record-keeping

    Investor network / CRM

    • Collect information on investors in CGM network: AUM, asset allocation strategies, investment restrictions and current searches / mandates
    • Support team in maintaining databases, producing meeting notes and record-keeping

    Management Company and Fund

    Internal Management

    • Support preparation of presentations and materials for investment committee and other meetings

    Finance

    • Support finance function in day-to-day record keeping, cash management, accounting and payments processes

    Operations

    • Support BAU operations, including annual valuation, team admin, etc

    CRM / Systems

    • Support development and maintenance of performance database and analytical systems
    • Support in producing management information / reports on the team's activity / progress

    Qualifications

    • Degree-level education (numerate disciplines of benefit)
    • 2+ years of previous work experience
    • Strong interest in and basic knowledge of asset management industry
    • Basic financial and accounting knowledge (financial modelling experience of benefit)
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities
    • Advanced Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint)
    • Some programming, scripting and data management skills beneficial but not required
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
    • Problem solving and strong communication skills
    • Fluency in English, other languages beneficial but not required
    • Strong personal and professional ethics and integrity
