    Description
    An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Design Manager to join a UK company that manufactures leading technology protection relays and medium voltage circuit breakers often for highly critical electrical power systems across a global client base.

    This is an excellent role for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer familiar with concept design through to final product manufacturing, ideally from a switchgear background and willing to lead a team, undertaking an end-to-end approach.

    As Engineering Design Manager, your responsibilities will include:
    • Taking a lead role in design and managing the team
    • Being active in discovering and investigating new manufacturing processes and techniques
    • Interpreting client requirements into functional cost-effective designs
    • Liaising from design through to inhouse fabrication as well as externally with clients and suppliers
    We're looking for an Engineering Design Manager with:
    • HNC/HND with relevant experience or BSc/BEng Electrical / Mechanical Graduate
    • Experience using SolidWorks to produce unambiguous manufacturing and assembly drawings
    • Experience of IEC62271 and ENA TS41-36 standards
    • Familiarity of type testing switchgear including dielectric, short circuit, pd and mechanical
      endurance
    You will be working 37.5 hours per week.
