Acorn by Synergie is currently seeking a Family Law Paralegal for their client's Family Law Department.

This role involves assisting the Family Fee Earners with their caseload of private and legal aid funded matters from file opening to completion.


Key tasks:

  • Assisting fee earners with matters at all stages, from file opening to archiving in accordance with office and accounts procedures
  • Obtaining and preparing file documentation
  • Keeping clients and other parties updated with progress of matters
  • Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties
  • Maintaining legal knowledge and skills
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving office procedures
  • Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment
  • Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm

  • Professional and friendly client care
  • Ability to work accurately in accordance with agreed procedures
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work, under supervision, to meet clients' expectations and matter deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to confidently present and argue a case orally and in writing
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as a member of a team
  • Ability to deal with enquiries in a customerfriendly and effective manner
  • Proficient IT skills

Qualifications:
Upper 2nd Class degree, preferably in law or with GDL


Experience:


  • Experience in family law, either private or legal aid an advantage
  • Flexible and 'cando' attitude
  • Excellent written communication to produce documents for the clients, other side and third parties
  • Clear and confident spoken communication to resolve telephone enquiries
  • Ability to promote the image of the firm
