    This is a fantastic oppurtuniy to join our growing business. In this role as CFO, you will provide strategic direction, motivational leadership to our Finance function and financial oversight to the entities comprising the HSB UK & Ireland organisation.

    This is a key position within the the group's senior executive leadership team, you will be a trusted advisor and partner to fellow function heads, supporting them in delivering their strategic goals and business targets through providing understanding, constructive challenge and insight into their financial results, trends and future forecasts and enabling a strong culture of fiscal responsibility across functions. The CFO role is a key contributor to strategic direction decisions and the implementation of strategies and initiatives for HSB to deliver on its future ambitions. To be succesful in this role you will bring extensive relevant financial services experience at senior management level, experience at Board Director level is preferred, as well as expert level of understanding in: UK capital reporting environment, financial management, financial accounting (IFRS & UK), investment portfolio management and direct/indirect taxation management. As CFO you will have the ability to inspire trust and motivate colleagues towards achieving challenging goals, and be a committed, constructive and effective team player. This role will act as an approved person of HSBEIL with in accordance with the defined regulatory controlled function responsibilities as CFO. The role's prescribed responsibilities are:
    • management of the financial resources of the Company and reporting to the Board in relation to its financial affairs;
    • managing the allocation and maintenance of the firm's capital funding and liquidity;
    • the production and integrity of the Company's financial information and its regulatory reporting;
    • the development and maintenance of the Company's business model;
    • collecting and recovering amounts owed to the firm by its customers and dealing with customers in arrears;
    • agreeing and reviewing appointment of external auditors
    Key Responsibilities
    • Directing the activities of the HSB UK&I Finance function, ensuring effective financial systems and controls and the effective management of the financial resources of the HSB UK&I Group.
    • The delivery of effective capital management for all entities in the HSB UK&I Group, and the delivery of capital modeling to support the HSB EIL Own Risk and Solvency Assessment.
    • The delivery of effective financial business partnering and all internal financial planning, reforecasting and routine reporting for the HSB UK&I Group, including the Monthly Greenbook management reporting pack, affiliate reporting pack, Econ reporting for IFRS and Solvency II, financial analysis and other Group reporting as required
    • The delivery of all external financial reporting in accordance with all internal and regulatory requirements, including UK GAAP annual statutory accounts, Solvency II quarterly and annual Reporting, all other Regulatory reporting for the HSB UK&I Group
    • Overseeing the performance of the outsourced corporate investments function, provided by Munich Re GIM.
    • Acting as Senior Accounting Officer for all entities within HSB UK&I, responsible for the delivery of all internal and external direct and indirect taxation filings and overseas taxation reporting
    • Working closely with the Chairman of the Audit Committee of HSBEIL in matters of effective financial reporting and oversight of the relationship with and effectiveness of external and internal auditors.
    • Supporting the development of staff within the Finance function in order to meet both current and future requirements of the business and creating a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Carrying out the functions of a statutory director of HSBEISL, MDIS
    • Collectively with the Board of Directors and Senior Management, advising and governing the delivery of the HSB UK&I strategy and support the strategy through the provision of effective retrospective and prospective financial performance data and analysis.
    • Actively participate as a member of HSB UK&I Executive Committee.
    • Working collaboratively with colleagues at the Company's parent, HSB Group, and ultimate parent, Munich Re, to support the delivery of the Group's strategy.
