    AWE is currently recruiting a Senior Manager Material Control to join our growing team.

    Location : Reading/Basingstoke

    Package - £57,540-£90,940 dependant on skills and experience

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Line management for team of Non-Nuclear Material Control accounts staff.

    • Author of policy and process related to the management of all Non-Nuclear Material across the enterprise.

    • Accountable for ensuring non-nuclear materials are available to meet programme requirements and to ensure inventory records are accurate.

    • Provide technical and administrative direction related to the established company, material management policies and procedures.

    • Effectively manage material against programme demand.

    • End to end material management of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) to support the programme.

    • Act as company process owner for Non-Nuclear Material Accountancy and Control.

    • Provide direction and material management subject matter expertise to the Tech Centres.

    • Ensure standards, procedures and processes are developed and implemented across all operational areas; including internal auditing, co-ordination of external auditing and governance.

    • Setting direction and developing shared understanding of Material Control roles embedded throughout operational areas.

    • Develop and implement a company wide Non-Nuclear Material audit programme and retain evidence of all assurance activities.

    • Act as site wide Non-Nuclear Material Accountancy system Super User.

    • Develop and deliver company wide training relating to Materials Accountancy and control to enhance knowledge base within facilities and the wider stakeholder community including the Customer and Regulators.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for leading the company wide assurance programme for non-nuclear material and biannual stock check.

    • Provide input to the future Logistics strategy of AWE.

    • Responsible for the implementation, management, and monitoring of the Non-Nuclear Material Management work process in order to meet programme and project requirements, and the schedule.

    • Work closely with the AWE customer community (material management) to identify and deliver key requirements/milestones.

    • Ensure that performance metrics are developed, implemented and tracked to enable delivery of AWE's programme requirements.

    • Ensure material management performance metrics are developed, implemented and of a quality that delivers against our programmes.

    • Ensure that AWE remains compliant with customer requirements by acting as Non-Nuclear Material Accountant and Senior Controller, by ensuring that training is appropriate and up to date with the latest requirements and delivered appropriately.

    • Ensure that AWE remains compliant with customer and regulatory requirements by reporting accountancy and control activities including non-compliance on time and within the defined reporting framework.

    • Ensure that a full stock examination of AWE Non-Nuclear stock holdings, and reconciliation is conducted on a biannual basis.

    • Ensure that all accountancy and control documentation and instructions remain compliant with current classification requirements.

    • Analyse situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action.

    • Present Material Accountancy information to Non-Nuclear Material Operations Management and internal/external stakeholders when required.

    • Diagnose, solve and provide solutions to Non-Nuclear Material Accountancy technical issues for the company and external stakeholders.

    • Analyse data associated with Non-Nuclear Materials accountancy and present findings when required

    • Responsible for leading the development of Non-Nuclear Materials Accountancy and Control techniques.

    • Responsible for establishing best practice both internally within the company and externally with other national and international establishments to aid process improvement.

    • Maintain the highest ethical standards of material management professional responsibility.

    • Typically manage personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities, and timely performance feedback.

    Candidates must be willing to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
