    We are working with a large multidisciplinary company who are currently looking for a talented Assistant Geo-Environmental Consultant
    to join their offices in Bristol.
This is predominantly office based position.

Responsibilities
***- Undertake tier 1 desk studies, including site walkovers.

  • Assisting in the preparation/design of environmental investigations and remediation schemes.
  • Supervise tier 2 ground investigations including organising subcontractors, logging, sampling and gas/groundwater monitoring of wells.
  • Undertake soil and rock logging to BS A12020 along with an understanding of ground investigation techniques, including trial pitting, windowless sampling and rotary drilling.
  • Management and scheduling of samples for contaminated land and sometimes geotechnical testing.
  • Write/assist in the production of factual, interpretative and technical note reports.
  • Develop skills in risk assessment (generic and detailed QRA).
  • Acting as mentor to more junior staff members.
  • Preparing Health & Safety Plans and CDM documentation.
  • Support the Team Leader/team in developing the geoenvironmental team in the Bristol office through marketing activities, supporting existing and new team members, developing strong relationships with internal and external clients and strategic partners.
  • To provide support to other offices as and when required, in support and development of geoenvironmental work.
  • Liaising with clients, professional advisors, contractors and other stakeholders such as Statutory bodies.
  • Implementing information technology and preparing publicity material, presenting seminars, preparing marketing data and assisting with marketing activities.

Qualifications

  • A Masters degree would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Progression towards Chartership would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Codes of Practice, Health and Safety Regulations and relevant legislation.
  • Proficient IT skills including the presentation of information.
