    Actuation Lab is first developing automated flow control technologies for industrial and aerospace applications.

    • A role for an Experienced CNC machinist who has knowledge in developing machining processes for parts that make up an innovative new design. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setting and operation of Hurco CNC 5 axis machining centres and CNC lathes. You will be working closely with the engineering team, consultants and other sub-contractors to communicate and provide feedback of machining outputs, reporting where there are issues and conversely where the process is robust.

    You will be responsible for proving out programs on a 5 Axis Hurco CNC machining centre and a Hurco CNC lathe.

    Communicating with Actuation Lab's R&D department to identify any issues with machining processes, identify potential improvements and methods of manufacture.

    Planning machining by studying requirements, engineering drawings, CAD files and materials.

    • Carry out random check during manufacture to ensure compliance of parts machined.
    • Monitor raw material inventory by checking stock to determine the amount available, anticipated stock, and identifying when orders need placing.
    • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs as and when required.
    CNC Operator Qualifications and Skills

    • Ability to set and operate CNC lathes and milling machines including program prove outs.
    • Excellent computer and technical skills
    • Hours of work are negotiable between 35 and 40 hours per week but shall be between 8am and 6pm.
    A recognised engineering apprenticeship or minimum 3 years experience of CNC machining.
