Job summary:


The United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is a central pillar of the UK Government's ambitious levelling up agenda and a significant component of its support for places across the UK.


You will join a team responsible for delivering £2.6bn of new funding for local investment by March 2025, with all areas of the UK receiving an allocation from the Fund.

This role is pivotal to supporting the delivery of a high-profile government fund.


Opportunities across the team include:

  • Working in a delivery role, in areas such as performance management, capacity and capability of local authorities and other contracting aspects of funding delivery. This might be analysing data, producing management information and working to support local authorities to ensure their delivery is timely and onbudget.
  • You will be responsible for managing relationships with other Government Departments in assessment and delivery, as well as engagement with Devolved Administrations. This function will also require coordination of responses to a wide range of briefing and correspondence requests at pace.
  • You will support the project management office team on a range of risk and reporting commissions. You will develop and manage central PMO documentation for the programme team to ensure milestones and goals are met and the programme is delivered successfully.

We will be looking for evidence that demonstrates a range of skills and experience including:

  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to plan, organise and manage your time effectively.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including ministers and senior local government officers.
  • Working in delivery environment.
  • Working in a fast paced and complex environment.
  • Working collaboratively with a wide range of partners to achieve shared goals.

Desirable skills:

  • Good Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience of working on the delivery of growth funds
