Smart Solutions is working with a large Joinery client based in the Newport area, which produces doors, windows, screens, oak trusses, mouldings and other bespoke items. Past and present projects include the manufacture of acoustic solutions for a world class auditorium, interior joinery for hotels, renovation and replication of specialist joinery for a number of castles and other historic buildings.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen with this client for a Joinery Project Manager to maintain existing customer relationships and accounts, whilst developing and obtaining new business by taking design projects from concept to completion and working collaboratively with customers, the sales team and joinery department.

Hours of work: Day shift, Monday to Friday (overtime expected on occasions)

Requirements of the Joinery Project Manager :

• Experience in a similar role. It would also be desirable that you have prior experience as a bench joiner (or similar), supplying you with the knowledge required of working with timber products and how they are made, including CNC programming.
• Able to prepare estimates and develop customer's ideas; ensuring the product is being produced in line with what has been designed and agreed with the customer; working closely with the joinery team to oversee this process.
• In addition to the above you should have proficient IT skills particularly MS Excel for scheduling, pricing etc. with the ability to use CAD software to produce workshop drawings, presenting idea's and solutions to customers.
• The role will be predominately office based. However, you will be expected to travel to project sites in order to complete measurements and site meetings.
