_Head of Web Optimisation and Digital Experience (Hybrid - 3 days per week in office)_


Working within the E-Commerce department of this reputable and high-performing retail business, based in London, you will have the opportunity to lead the team that owns and manages user experience on the E-Commerce site, which trades across 6 country websiteson the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform.

This is delivered through an internal team of 4, comprising CRO, UX Design, Development and Analytics.


You will be responsible for shaping and delivering all A/B testing programmes and building personalised experiences for agreed segments of the customer base.

Your team will own eCommerce analysis, testing, journey and experience design, whilst working alongsidethe eCommerce trading and content team.

The role will be the primary liaison to their internal IT development team and will turn the outputs of CRO programmes, A/B testing and experience changes into IT ready packages of work (big and small).


This is a chance to work within a fast-paced retail environment and the ideal person will understand the dynamics of moving forward on multiple fronts in a D2C environment, shaping change and strategy while ensuring they focus on delivering best outcomesfor their customers and the business.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ownership of A/B test and learn programme including the technical delivery of tests
  • Full endtoend delivery of consequent change including technical specification based on test/experimentation results
  • Onsite personalisation programme
  • UX research and design
  • Web performance analytics
  • IT future change roadmap (in collaboration with various other senior stakeholders)
  • Owner of the main components of the testing and analytics stack (Content Square, Adobe Target, Launch, Analytics and Audience Manager).
  • Input Into the overall roadmap for eCommerce (functional and technical)
  • Management of relationships with key third party vendors.
  • Managing key Internal stakeholder relationships across several Internal functions (marketing, finance, creative etc).
  • Management and delivery of marketing and thirdparty tags onto the web platform

Experience Required:


  • Experience of leading experimentation & testing programmes from start to finish within a B2C environment with extensive experience of commercial UX and experimentation delivery
  • Strong familiarity with principles of web frontend coding direct development experience would be useful but not essential.
  • Translate user research and requirements into endtoend user experience deliverables: audits, journeys, site maps, wireframes, prototypes, specifications, test plans, test reports
  • Proven ability to build wider business cases and drive strategic change in collaboration with the eCommerce Director and Head of Online Merchandising.
  • Team management and leadership
  • Third party ownership end to end lifecycle management from selection, implementation and management.

Technical Skills Required

  • Thorough understanding of CRO principles
  • Strong experience of running and managing A/B testing stacks (ideally Adobe Target, Launch and Audience Manager).
  • Deep experience critiquing and reviewing frontend designs, wireframes and overall customer journey as part of change delivery.
  • Understanding of principles of accessible web design and development
  • Experience managing UX design and experimentation with site speed in mind
  • Understanding of JavaScript, HTML and other front end web code bases
