Children North East is a large North East based children's charity that works across the region, with some work extending across England, Wales and Scotland.

We exist because growing up can be hard.

We want all babies, children and young people to be happy and healthy, and to grow up feeling safe and loved, resilient to the challenges they may face, and valued and confident.


We are looking to appoint a Fundraising Communications Officer to oversee the development and delivery of communications and marketing related to our supporters; including donors, fundraisers and corporate/business audiences.


Main Responsibilities

  • To utilise the charity's communications channels to promote fundraising activities and secure support including donations, sign ups and sponsorship.
  • To produce content for the charity's marketing channels to communicate the charity's activities and ways to support our work.
  • To create and manage content on the supporter area of the Children North East website.
  • To manage the content and optimise use of digital income generation platforms, including Enthuse, JustGiving, the online shop and GivePenny.
  • To promote digital fundraising opportunities and the online shop to existing and new audiences to secure support and income.
  • To develop and deliver supporter stakeholder journeys, utilising a range of digital channels.
  • To create content and schedule engaging posts for the organisation's social media channels.
  • To produce regular newsletters informing and celebrating our supporter community.
  • To regularly review existing and new digital platforms to support fundraising, sharing best practice with the wider team and ensuring platforms are used to their full potential.
  • To provide ad hoc support to fundraising colleagues in their delivery of fundraising activities, such as events.
  • Accurate and timely stakeholder management, aligned with team processes
  • To signpost enquiries received through digital platforms to relevant team members within the charity.
