We are working with a school in Stockport who are seeking a Science Teacher to begin work after the Easter Period - running likely for 1 fully year (12 months)

Pay for this role:
£143 - £180 per day


The Science Teacher will need to display competency in terms of demonstrating practical experiments, and will need to be a clear team player (working with support staff such as Teaching Assistants and Lab Technicians) and will need to be able to communicateeffectively in a classroom setting through the use of engaging teaching strategies.

The ability to differentiate learning to meet the needs of all is crucial (including those with SEN)

The role will involve marking, planning as well as the setting of reflective homework tasks.

The applicant will have a history of helping students develop their ability inprogressing exam technique, as well as being able to target specific topics thatstudents generally find difficult.

Intervention/revision sessions will also be expected to take place, particularly with students who are struggling to engage with work set.

Located in Stockport, the school is a large secondary school that has rail links closer by. It is part of a very well regarded trust, and exam results are steadily improving year on year.

The Head of Departmentwill be able to provide the applicant withregular training and will also be on hand to offer continuous professional support.

The school has a large amount of pupils with EHCP's/accessing SEN support services - given that this is the case, the required applicant will need to be able to provide thesepupils with simplified objectives/learning goals.

The school has regular internal assessments that take place in order to test student understanding, meaning that pupils have regular progress meetings which the teacher required will be expected to attend.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
