We are working with a leading regional building contractor who are well known for successfully delivering technically challenging, iconic projects for a varied client base across the North West of England.

The Role:

This is a great opportunity to join one of the best regarded contractors in the North West as they are now in a position to recruit an experienced Intermediate level Estimator to bolster their current team.

You'll be able to work on a variety of tendering and cost preparation formats including single stage competitive tenders, 2 stage, negotiated, cost plans and budgets

You will be tasked with receiving tender enquiries and presenting the details to the Directors and agreeing to bid or not, complete the risk register, work with the rest of the pre con team to meet deadlines, send out and vet subcontract enquiries, conducting site visits, attending tender review meetings, build up the tender through to tender adjudication and settlement whilst looking for value engineering opportunities, present the financial elements of the tender in line with the clients' specification and help with post tender negotiations.

You'll have good commercial and market awareness with knowledge of build/Sq Ft rates for appraisal assessments and cost planning and will keep informed of actual project costs and live cost data.

You'll be aware of current construction techniques and the use of contemporary materials.

You:

To take on this role you will need to have worked as an Estimator / Assistant Estimator / Trainee Estimator for a Building Contractor or Subcontractor previously.

You will be based in or be able to commute to Manchester daily.

Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Packages and ideally knowledge of Conquest.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Self-motivated.
