    Job summary

    This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within CAMHS. To take a role in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the well-being of children and young people. Working within a systemic and holistic framework you will support the Multi-Disciplinary Team with therapeutic interventions with children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service.

    Main duties of the job

    We are looking for a suitably qualified/experienced individual with a genuine interest and desire of working with this client group. You should have good verbal and written communication skills, enjoy working in a busy multi-disciplinary team. The successful applicant will be able to co-work effectively with colleagues, manage a small case load with support from the case manager, support groups and work independently. Full training will be given.

    Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • NVQ Level 4 or HND qualification in child/social studies, Health or Education or Social Services or equivalent.
  • Level 3 will be considered if individual has considerable practical experience.
  • Knowledge

    Essential

  • Knowledge of signs and symptoms of a range of problematic psychological presentations (attachment, anxiety, low resilience, low self-confidence etc).
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Evidence of working with children and young people who present with emotional health difficulties
  • Evidence of providing family support to parents/carers presenting with psychological difficulties
  • Previous experience of working in a community setting with children, young people and their families with significant mental health presentations and /or social care needs and/or educational needs.
  • Previous experience working with young people who self-harm
