Description

This is an exciting opportunity for the post holder to be integral to the provision of a comprehensive expert financial service and be part of the Research Development & Innovation Department (R&I).


The post holder supports both the R&I team with the pre and post-award management of the Trust's investigator led research grants (including grant costing, billing & reconciliation of grants) and also supports Finance department colleagues (DERI Finance Manager & DERI Senior Divisional Finance Advisor) in their responsibilities to manage the month end processing for R&I.

The post holder's role will support the sponsorship and governance teams & delivery study coordinators in the financial aspects of costing, setting-up and agreement of financial schedules in research study contracts, as well as ensuring the timely recovery of all income related to research activity once this is recorded accurately and agreed with the study sponsor by the study coordinators.

The recording of research activity is through the EDGE Clinical Research Management System as well as other Trust Finance systems.


You will provide advice to both clinical and non-clinical staff, regarding pre-award and post-award investigator grants as well as providing advice regarding invoice and credit note processing, internal financial processes such as payments to participants / Patient and Public collaborators / staff external to the ELHT and study reconciliations.

You will also be a key member of the team who support the Directorate of Education Research and Innovation (DERI) Divisional Accountant and Assistant Management Accountant with the pre and post-award management of the Trust's investigator led research grants.
