The postholder will lead on the child safeguarding agenda and be responsible for ensuring that the Trust carries out its statutory duties in relation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
The post holder must hold a current nursing qualification and have demonstrable post registration experience in child safeguarding.
Main duties of the job
As the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Children you will be responsible for ensuring the Trust carries out its statutory duties with respect to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
To assist with the development and implementation of the Trust's safeguarding children agenda, and ensure that Trust policies, procedures and governance systems meet statutory and national requirements in relation to safeguarding children.
To support the Head of Safeguarding to ensure that the Trust contributes to multi-agency safeguarding children's work alongside specialist safeguarding professionals from other organisations and bodies, including Children's social care, education, and health, and in the planning and development of strategies for safeguarding.
To ensure that safeguarding concerns are monitored and dealt with in a timely and effective way across the organisation.
To have oversight of performance data in relation to safeguarding children and complete audits to monitor activity and provide assurances in relation to standards and practice.
To ensure that the training delivery plan meets national and local requirements.
To represent the Trust at multi-agency safeguarding partnership meetings and sub-groups.
To contribute and participate in multi-agency safeguarding reviews and embed the lessons learnt.
To provide safeguarding supervision to individuals and teams across the Trust.
