We have an exciting new opportunity for an
Exams Access Arrangements Officer to join our passionate and busy Disability Services Department.


The postholder will have responsibility for ensuring that EAA supporting evidence, particularly that from external sources, is valid and sufficient for JCQ and other awarding body purposes.


Responsibilities include:


  • To maintain waiting lists of students requiring EAA assessments
  • To prepare where necessary Part One of Form 8 Reports for assessors
  • To oversee all EAA referrals made (via EAA Referral forms) and be the goto contact for students and staff with queries around EAA related concerns.
  • To contact schools for evidence of EAA
  • To contact college tutors for evidence of normal way of working and ensure that the evidence received is sufficient
  • To contact students to book appointments for EAA assessments
  • To liaise with Helpdesk staff regarding reminders for appointments
  • Maintain records of all EAA related documentation, including approvals and expiry dates, in line with JCQ regulations. Upkeep SEND & ALS internal exam forms
  • To liaise with staff in SEND/ALS regarding EAA process
  • To attend relevant meetings for EAA and processes, liaising closely with the college Exams team
  • To liaise with staff in the college exams office regarding approved EAA for students
  • To attend relevant training for EAA and keep up to date with legislation
  • To organise and monitor reader/scribe and invigilator training for staff within college
  • Undertake other administration support and helpdesk cover as deemed necessary
  • Organise and publicise "drop in" slots for students or staff to refer or ask questions around EAA to increase the crosscollege awareness
  • Use the college MIS (Currently EBS Central); (with support from helpdesk and admin staff) to ensure all students with EAA in place have this information detailed on EBS
  • Organise, file and invoice any HE related DSA Invoicing, maintaining appropriate records
  • Work with the relevant staff to ensure the referrals process is fair, consistent, and efficient in ensuring allocation, advice, and triage of incoming referrals

Education & Training

  • Evidence of study at a minimum of a full level 3 qualification or relevant experience.
  • GCSE 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
  • GCSE 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale

Experience

  • Experience of working with and interpreting data from multiple sources and dealing with liaising with examination teams and educational settings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with staff at all levels within and outside College in a variety of modes, on both developmental and regulatory matters.
  • Experience of the operation of FE/HE regulatory frameworks is desirable but not essential.
