    Description

    We have an exciting opportunity within our Lab teams for a Senior Chemistry Technician. Within this role the post holder will be responsible for carrying out the chemistry testing programme to ensure our products and equipment meet quality and safety standards, and to drive continuous improvement across the Chemistry department.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Arrange and coordinate external testing as required.
  • Adhere to company and laboratory stringent safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Carry out a variety of chemistry tests including interpreting results using scientific knowledge of appropriate in-house test methods, analytical systems, and risk assessment procedures
  • Supporting relevant internal audits and laboratory accreditation
  • Validate, troubleshoot, and monitor performance of laboratory methods and equipment and train other team members as required.
  • Deputise for and the Lab Manager or Lab Analyst and support relevant scientific risk assessments as required.

  • Strong alignment to the Weetabix values
  • Great planning, organisational, time-management, troubleshooting and communication skills with a fantastic attention to detail. Laboratory experience including exposure with ISO 17025 accreditation and a laboratory information management system (LIMS) would be beneficial
  • An understanding of basic statistics and ISO 17025 accreditation
  • Technical Chromatography skills including HPLC, LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS is beneficial.
  • Ideally, Biology/Chemistry related qualification(s)
