    Description

    Job Description

Suzanne Neville is looking to recruit a highly experienced pattern cutter to work on site from their Harrow studio. You'll be working directly alongside the designer, Suzanne, and be supporting the senior pattern-cutting team with the daily running of the studio, amending client patterns, creating new digital styles, and digitally grading new collection styles where required. The manual pattern-cutting team is transitioning to work digitally, so some level of support to these staff members will also be required.

Everything is made in-house with a small team of pattern cutters, fabric cutters, and machinists, so we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with hands-on experience in creating beautiful, luxury Bridal who would enjoy being a part of the Suzanne Neville team. We do require someone ready to hit the ground running, used to pressured environments with excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

    Some Role specifics:

Made to measure client patterns: You'll be interpreting what each bride wants from order notes, sketches, and communication with stockists and fitters, by following supplied measurements and photos, to create perfectly fitting pattern work. This is supplemented by the development of individual production sheets to communicate garment construction with the cutting and machinist teams.

You'll be required to grade both standard and curve styles using Gerber for our bridal and evening collections. Some third-party liaison with our external graders will also be required, cross-checking digitised and graded files, whilst maintaining the in-house Gerber archive and ensuring physical printed patterns are correct. Additionally, updating company grade rules specs where required.

Knowledge of plotter maintenance would be a plus but there will be support from an external IT tech team. Some flexibility may be required, completing tasks outside of your main job role, depending on seasonality and production requirements.

    Required Skills:

    ● Specialist in Made-to-measure Bridal.

    ● Excellent knowledge and understanding of pattern cutting, grading, garment construction, and fitting.

    ● Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Pattern Cutter.

    ● Gerber Accumark suite, version v14 with at least 5 years' experience. Creative pattern cutting on PDS & grading knowledge on the Gerber system is a requirement. Understanding of marker-making is advantageous.

    ● Manual pattern cutting to an above-average standard, utilising flat and draping methods.

    ● Good understanding of different sewing techniques and garment construction.

    ● Comfortable working within a team, with great interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with people of all backgrounds, both internally and externally.

    ● Strong time management skills and record-keeping of personal workflow.

    ● Computer literacy on Microsoft packages.

    What we offer:

Full time 40 hours per week, or potentially part-time 3-4 days depending on the candidate's situation.

A competitive salary based on hours and experience.

Option to work paid overtime during busy periods.

To be part of a small, friendly and dynamic team.

    Salary: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
