Buyer

The Role

  • Working within the procurement department within the business
  • Negotiating with suppliers on price for parts and materials
  • Agreeing lead times with suppliers and haulage companies
  • Monitoring stock levels and replenishing stock accordingly
  • Looking at the production programme and ensuring parts and materials are onsite
  • Attend weekly production meetings
  • Raising purchase orders
  • Ensuring prices agreed match with invoices
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Other relevant procurement duties

Essential Criteria

  • At least 1 years' experience with a similar role
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Ability to work off own initiative
  • Experience in monitoring and maintaining stock levels
  • Good computer skills
