    Job summary

    We are recruiting for an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist to come join our friendly team.

    To Support the Consultant Psychological Therapist in leading thepsychological services and care within the team alongside other MDT ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist PsychologicalService to clients with eating disorders and their supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapyprovided by other psychologists, psychological therapists and other clinicalmembers of the team who provide psychologically based care and manage the operational delivery of Psychological services within theeating disorders services as agreed by the Consultant Psychological therapist and the senior leadership work autonomously within professional guidelines and exerciseresponsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within eating disorder utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development propose and implement policy changes within the area served by theteam/service.

    Main duties of the job

    To Support the Consultant Psychological Therapist in leading the psychological services and care within the team alongside other MDT leads.

    To ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist Psychological Service to clients with eating disorders and their families.

    To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists, psychological therapists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.

    To manage the operational delivery of Psychological services within the eating disorders services as agreed with the Consultant Psychological therapist and the senior leadership team.

    To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within eating disorder services.

    To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.

    To propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the team/service.

    Job responsibilities

    You will provide evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment including a range of group and individual psychological interventions, and supervise others doing similar as part of our multidisciplinary team.

    You will provide very highly specialist support, guidance, and consultation on clients psychological care to other multi-disciplinary professionals.

    You will work with the leadership team to ensure our care pathways are delivered seamlessly and offer excellent care and outcomes for those who need our support.

    You will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures.

    You will utilise research skills for audit, teaching, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.

    You will support trainees and other staff to develop their skills and deliver high quality services.

    Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • For practitioner Psychologists: Post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) Full registration with Health Professions Council Or for CBT therapists Registration with BABCP as a CBT Therapist with additional specialist training in CBT ED
  • Desirable

  • Additional specialist training in NICE recommended intervention for Eating Disorders - particularly SSCM, Mantra, or FPT
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Assessed experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of adults of working age with a wide range of presentations of varying severity.
  • Experience operational management of psychological therapies services
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for client's psychological care and treatment.
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision, including supervision of clinical psychology trainee(s).
  • Experience working within a multi disciplinary therapy service.
  • Desirable

  • Experience and or training in neuropsychological assessment
  • Experience of working with eating disorders in a specialist setting
