    Description

    IES Utilities Group Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to oversee and manage our electrical contracts in the EPN area for UK Power Networks. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of high and low voltage electrical systems, coordinating with teams and managing compliance with all safety and technical standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Act as the Senior Authorised Person for high and low voltage electrical systems.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee operational and maintenance activities on electrical systems to ensure reliability and efficiency.
    • Carry out and supervise switching operations, issue safety documentation, and ensure that all electrical work is performed safely and competently.
    • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and external contractors to ensure the timely completion of projects.
    • Conduct risk assessments and method statements for planned electrical works.
    • Provide technical support and training to team members and ensure they are competent in their roles.
    • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of electrical operations and incidents.
    • Stay updated with industry developments, new technologies, and changes in regulations.

    Qualifications:

    • Qualified to at least HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Senior Authorised Person with authorisation for HV and LV systems.
    • Strong understanding of electrical systems, distribution networks, and associated regulations.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

    Desirable:

    • Experience working within UK Power Networks' EPN region.
    • Certification in Health and Safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
