    Engagement Officer, Location: PRU Secondary Setting/Chesterfield

    Contract Type:
    Full-time, Permanent, Salary: Competitive, based on experience,

    Key Responsibilities:
    Build positive relationships with students, providing support and guidance to enhance their engagement with learning.
    Develop and implement strategies to address behavioural challenges and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
    Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
    Monitor student progress and provide feedback to inform personalized interventions and support plans.
    Organize and facilitate enrichment activities and extracurricular programs to promote social, emotional, and academic development.
    Act as a liaison between students, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for student well-being

    Requirements:
    Experience working with young people in a similar setting, ideally within a PRU or alternative provision environment.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students from diverse backgrounds.
    A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
    Knowledge of relevant safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
    Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards working in a dynamic and sometimes unpredictable environment.
    Relevant qualifications or training in youth work, social work, education, or a related field would be advantageous.
