    An exciting opportunity for a 12 month fixed term contract for a Finance Associate has arisen.

    The role of Finance Associate is a key role within the Finance department, reporting to the Financial Controller. The ideal candidate is a confident professional who works well individually as well as part of a cross-departmental team environment, and must enjoy the pace, variety and intensity of working for a scaling high-growth and agile tech company. This role is a great opportunity to gain a wide range of experience and will have exposure to all areas of the business.

    Key Responsibilities

    Bookkeeping and accounting
    • Month end reporting – posting journals as necessary and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations to an audit ready standard.
    • Maintaining accuracy of financial results, ensuring that costs are allocated to the correct departments.
    • Preparation of monthly cashflow reporting.
    • Analysis and reconciliation of bank and credit card statements.
    • Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
    • Participation in annual audit process
    Controls and process management
    • Ownership of accounts payable - ensuring the accuracy of all supplier invoices, adherence to associated internal controls and process management.
    • Review and approval of staff expenses claims to ensure they are in line with company policy and tax legislation in all Encompass jurisdictions.
    • Ownership of purchase order system to ensure adherence to financial budgets and processes, as well as advising other departments on company policy in this area.
    • Identification and implementation of process improvements
    Finance operations.
    • Day to day maintenance of financial and operational records within Xero.
    • Ownership of the shared accounts and accounts payable inboxes - dealing with queries from stakeholders and responding to any other requests.
    • Processing supplier invoices and payment runs.
    • Supporting the rest of the finance team with ad-hoc projects as required.
    • Cash management – ensuring subsidiary bank accounts are adequately funded to cover monthly operational requirements.

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    • Part qualified in either ACCA or CIMA
    • We are looking for someone who knows their debits and credits and the ins and outs of how an accounts team works
    • A well organised, motivated person who can work on their own initiative in a high growth environment and always focus on continuous improvement
    • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
    • Proficient in Excel
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
