  • The Green Spaces and Street Scene Service is responsible for maintaining the beautiful borough of Calderdale. This includes looking after our parks and open spaces, play areas, highways, countryside & forestry, and ensuring that the streets are kept clear of litter, public litter bins are emptied, and fly tipping is removed.
  • We are looking for motivated and forwardthinking individuals to join our service and be part of a team responsible for the maintenance of Calderdale's highway network. You will carry out work that is directed from highways inspections such as repairs to potholes, paving, kerbs, walling, fencing and drainage. You will also be required to attend emergency out of hours calls, for example, in response to road traffic accidents or incidents of flooding.
  • You will support the Senior Operatives and be expected to manage your own workload in line with service requirements. You should have strong organisational and interpersonal skills and be competent in working in an outdoor environment carrying out a variety of maintenance tasks.
  • This is a Calderdale wide role and so it is essential that you have an adaptable approach. You will be expected to work outside of core hours on standby if required.
