    Global Investment & Trading company based in the City of London, are looking to bring on board a new Manager to join their Investment Portfolio Management (IPM) team. You'll support the Department General Manager ("DGM") and other Department Managers for all investment related risk management work – both new opportunities as well as existing portfolio investments that fall within our client's remit.

    Main responsibilities will include;

    • Support the department in providing recommendations to management on investment opportunities based on own analysis and evaluation (including the handling of internal applications for such procedures).
    • Support business departments as an "in-house advisor" in terms of investment sourcing and deal execution.
    • Monitor and oversee invested subsidiaries and affiliates in order to keep them growing and profitable through budget control and decision-making for key governance matters (including the handling of internal applications for such procedures).
    • Consider and advise management of subsidiaries and affiliates on their business and operations and offer ways to improve performance and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with business departments and support corporate development activities.
    • Support strategic exits of investments as required.
    • Coach and develop junior staff members in the department.
    • Actively contribute to accomplishment of IPM team targets.

    To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills;

    • Undergraduate university education or higher.
    • Degree in Management & Business Administration, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar (preferred)
    • Essential (in one of more of the following areas): corporate finance, M&A, portfolio management, business strategy/development and risk management.
    • Strong analytical and modelling skills
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high performing team (previous people management experience required)
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Eager to tackle challenges and highly self-driven
    • Results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality deliverables
    • Comfortable challenging the status quo and engaging with management
    • Happy to travel frequently, mainly in Europe and occasionally further afield.
