    Job summary

    To ensure the accurate and timely production of the Company's weekly and monthly payrolls, using the Oracle HRMS system. To correspond with government bodies to resolve employee related enquiries.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Allocate new starters to the correct payroll;
    • Enter Bank details, cost centre, P45, P46 against employee's records;
    • Checking National Insurance numbers and dates of birth are entered correctly by recruitment. Entering termination details on Oracle, ensuring that leavers forms are correct completed and calculating final payments;
    • Entering of and validating batch data provided by garage into the Payroll system, calculating of holiday advances;
    • Inputting Tax credits, Student loans, court orders, and CSA orders;
    • Calculating Company and Statutory sick pay, from garage weekly sick returns;
    • Validating high and low gross pay prior to BACS transmission;
    • Printing and distribution of weekly payslips;
    • Completion of Inland Revenue, Contribution Agency, Child Support Agency, Working Family Tax Credit, Job Seekers Allowance, mortgage applications, local authority benefit forms;
    • Dealing with employee enquiries, by phone or letter.

    Essential Criteria for application

    • Understanding of term and conditions of service;
    • Understanding of UK legislation for Inland Revenue and Department for Work and Pensions;
    • Demonstrable experience of high volume payrolls (distinct advantage).

    • Discreet when managing confidential matters;
    • Ability to collate and interpret statistical data.

    Hours of work

    38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
