Our client has been serving the households, businesses and communities of Britain for over 250 years.

They offer a comprehensive range of financial products and services - including current accounts, savings, mortgages, loans and credit cards.

The Ledger Lab in an Optimus approved Lab within Finance Platform, made up of over 100 colleagues, comprising change professionals, engineers and business SMEs, the majority of which are based in Harbourside, Bristol.

The purpose of the Lab is to deliver changes to the Bank's Ledger capability safely and when they are needed, maximising sustainable value for the client's customers, suppliers and investors and our colleagues.

The role will be as a Business Analyst (BA), on a six-month secondment, as part of an existing team of 17 BAs in the Chapter, working across both the Ledger Lab and Transforming Finance.

It will involve working across a sophisticated landscape of multiple FinanceApplications, Tools and Processes whilst engaging Customers from a variety of internal and external teams.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Elicit requirements, collaborating with Customers, BAs, and Designers to understand the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
  • Designing potential solutions to any problems identified during the Concept and Design phases.
  • Conducting data mapping, discovery and analytics using excel and other business intelligence tools.
  • Promoting Agile methodology and the Optimus framework tools within the BA Chapter, the Lab and/or Transforming Finance.
  • Supporting the Product Owners and Project Managers across the full Change spectrum, from Product Backlog refinement to Regulatory Controls and Governance

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Analytical and objective thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation skills.
  • Data analysis and mapping
  • Strong Customer Leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Agile and/or Finance Systems such as JIRA, Confluence, SAP, and Oracle

What we need from you:

  • Tried experience of endtoend delivery of multiple changes from project initiation through to implementation and postlive support
  • Passion, proactivity, dedication, and ability to operate independently with energy and drive
  • Outstanding communicator, able to collaborate with colleagues at all levels and across both the change and finance communities
  • Great facilitation and partnership skills, with an ability to bring out the best in teams
  • Ability to understand business problems and technical challenges, and facilitate team design and delivery of appropriate solutions
  • Energy and leadership to build collaborative and empowered teams, and be open to change and trying new ways of working
  • Ideally some knowledge of the Finance landscape
