Description
Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.

It's not every job where you make a difference for the people of Scotland. But it's what's behind every job here.

Our work keeps Scotland's water flowing, from reservoir to tap - and from sewer to treatment plant.

Do your bit by using effective supply chain management to achieve our big strategic aims - right here at our procurement centre of excellence in Stepps.

You will support delivery of the PSC vision: "Through digitally enabled supply chain integration, we collaborate to create an efficient, sustainable and agile supply chain that delivers great value for Scottish Water and our customers, supporting a flourishing Scotland.

"

We will do this through delivering these key activities:

Procurement & Sourcing - Ensuring SW has access to the goods and services it needs at the right time, to the right standard, representing value for money; delivered efficiently by a world-class procurement team.

Risk Management - Ensuring structural, ethical, local, and global supply chain risks, including value for money, are effectively monitored, managed, and made visible to SW to enable a sustainable and agile supply chain.

Supply Chain Development - Ensuring the supply chain remains fit for purpose through long term strategic alignment between SW & its supply chain partners & wider partnering ecosystems.

What you'll do

You'll be working to our Financial Outperformance Plan, because we like to sail past our targets.

But this job's about more than the bottom line.

With over 400 supplier frameworks in the mix, you'll also keep our Procurement and Supply Chain team on-track by providing data analysis and interpretation and convert that into insights people can act on and assurance of compliance, even if they don't find quite the same joy in them as you.

You'll always be on the lookout for ways to improve delivery: are we being as efficient as we could be? Are we meeting audit requirements? Am I becoming known for my restless enthusiasm for doing things better?

You'll also be all over the team's push to embrace digital efficiency - supporting colleagues and finding better ways of working.

You'll deliver high-quality results at speed, but have an eye for processes - great analysis is no use if it can't be back up with evidence or repeated

Driving compliance to SW frameworks and supply chain management processes through analysis and interpretation of data, guidance and education for specific users.

Seeking and facilitating opportunities to drive and deliver further value for SW through its supply chain.

Assure audit and legal requirements will be met through process management. You'll ensure we are using our existing processes, systems and governance diligently and effectively. You'll also drive compliance with Scottish Water frameworks and supply chain management processes.

What you'll bring

As a natural influencer (not the YouTube variety), you'll bring a positive energy and strategic vision to new ideas, getting people on board as you go.

You must also share our passion for great procurement processes, data and analysis and delivering great customer service.

Be able to demonstrate problem solving abilities, active listening skills and effective, tailored engagement approaches.

You will have a proactive, 'can-do' approach and energy - this is essential to ensure delivery at pace and to a high quality.

You'll ideally have experience of having worked in a procurement team.

Although this job is flexible, we'd like to see you one to two days a week in our Procurement Centre of Excellence.

Looking out for you

The Procurement Team in Scottish Water is envied for its promotional opportunities.

We have an ethos of developing our enthusiastic and talented people and creating the right opportunities for them to grow and progress through the organisational structure right through to management level in some cases.

While the work we do is important, we know it's not the only thing that matters. That's why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.

You'll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take time off to volunteer in your community.

When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working. For your future, there's our pension (the 'know-what-you'll-get-when-you-retire' kind), and life assurance.

As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus.

Not to mention access to SW Splash - handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.

The not-so-small print

The salary range for this role is £31,380 - £43,350 depending on skills and experience.
