Description

Applications are invited for the position of
Postdoctoral Research Associate in
EPR Spectroscopy of Porphyrin-Based Spin Systems to work with Professors Christiane Timmel and Harry Anderson for a period of 12 months.

The project involves analysing magnetic interactions in molecular wires incorporating several paramagnetic centres.

Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry (or be close to completion) prior to taking up your appointment.

The project requires practical experience of pulsed EPR spectroscopy, applied to porphyrins and porphyrin oligomers, together with relevant experience of computational modelling and theoretical simulation of EPR spectra.

You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small-scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Chemistry Research Laboratory and is available from June 2024.
