Lilleybrook Care Home is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the team.

This is a full time position on a rota system working every other weekend.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications


Required:
Team player

Satisfactory DBS check & references

Good communication skills


Desired:
Previous experience relevant to the position

Experience of food preparation and dietary requirements.

Main responsibilities

Food preparation

Assist the Cook in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.

Training and Development

Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence

Attend mandatory training days/course, on or off site as and when required

Health & Safety

Wash up after meals. Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area and dining areas is carried out effectively

Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas

Report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service Users, colleague, self or another

Understand, and ensure the implementation of the Care Center Health & Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures

Report to the Home Manager, Handy-person or Person in Charge any faulty appliances, damaged furniture equipment or any potential hazard

Promote safe working practice in the Care Center

General

Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care home

Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties

Notify the Home Manager or Person in Charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence

Ensure the security of the Care Center is maintained at all times

Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales

Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained

Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you

£10.42 per hour
