    The role – what is it we would like you to do?

    Currie & Brown is seeking talented professionals to join our London-based M&E team

    As a result of continuing success with new clients, existing clients and the business' ambitious growth agenda, we are recruiting people with the desire to help shape the future and be involved in stimulating and rewarding projects.

    Our MEP roles include the full spectrum of cost consultancy and contract administration services. Our people have the opportunity to gain client-facing experience not typically available to MEP cost management professionals.

    Your core duties will involve:

    • Leading the preparation of cost plans and estimates and supporting presentation documents from inception and feasibility stages onwards
    • Presenting the above, explaining and agreeing approaches to issues around project risks and uncertainties
    • Leading procurement activities and contract formation
    • Acting in the role of contract administrator
    • Handling general project strategy shaping and client interactions
    • Undertaking the procurement of projects from start to finish including the preparation of tender documentation
    • Managing work packages post-contract including change control and valuation, progress valuations, cost reports and final accounts
    • Providing concise and focused cost advice and reporting to our clients
    • Conducting tender analysis for the purpose of contractor appointments and data capture for benchmarking and future cost plans
    • Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
    • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects and liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control
    • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
    • Representing and acting as an ambassador for the company in a professional and confidence-inspiring manner; meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships

    Some examples of our new and existing appointments include:

    • Cost management and contract administration services for a premium brand retailer on its engineering infrastructure programme. We have helped deliver tens of millions of pounds of work over more than a decade
    • Cost management of data centre projects within the UK and Europe for technical real estate developers and other recognisable global technology companies
    • Cost management of several sophisticated landmark acute hospital schemes. Our healthcare team is one of the leading cost and strategic advisory consultants in the UK and have a growing portfolio of appointments all requiring best in class MEP cost management

    What skills and attributes are we looking from you?

    • Technical delivery experience from within the construction industry, ideally consultancy
    • Pre and post-contract experience including cost planning and procurement
    • Good technical writing, strong client-facing and communication skills
    • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, self-starting, well-disciplined and commercially astute
    • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
    • Ability to take on a leadership role as part of personal development planning
    • NEC experience beneficial
