    Thredd is looking for a Platform Engineer to join their incumbent Platform function The fintech industry is fast paced and constantly looking at new ways to innovate. To keep up, we at Thredd are consistently developing new ways we can service our clients and we need to build secure, scalable, and observed infrastructure, to keep up with the demand.

    What you will do

    As a Platform Engineer, you will work across all Thredd functions to support the continuous release of highly observed, quality-assured code run within a scalable, redundant, and observed cloud platform.

    Within this role you will:

  • Run our infrastructure with Terraform and configuration management.
  • Design, build and maintain AWS platform infrastructure that facilitates scaling in support of global payments and issuance.
  • Provide hands-on, prototypes, and implementations incorporating cloud engineering best practices. Develop technical content like white paper etc.
  • Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack.
  • Build monitoring that alerts on symptoms rather than on outages.
  • Be a part of an on-call rotation to respond to incidents that impact our platform capabilities.
  • Define and implement deployment strategies which minimize or eliminate downtime.
  • Ensure deployed code meets quality and security standards.
  • Aid in root cause resolution of incidents.
  • Develop ways of providing early feedback on build, test, and deployment stages to developers and QA engineers.
  • What you will have

  • Experience working in a DevOps/SRE role.
  • Experience leveraging IaC tooling within multi cloud platforms, ideally Terraform.
  • A deep understanding of cloud component architecture: Microservices, Containers, IaaS, Storage, Security, knowledge of routing/switching technologies.
  • Experience in multi-tier traditional application architectures and in service decomposition and micro services.
  • Experience deploying, running, and observing workloads in Kubernetes e.g., EKS, AKS.
  • Experience defining and executing a cloud migration strategy e.g. On-premise to AWS/Azure/GCP.
  • Detailed understanding of CI/CD concepts and tooling, e.g. Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, Azure DevOps.
  • Proficiency in a programming language commonly leveraged for infrastructure and service automation e.g. Go, Python.
  • A desire to solve issues through root cause analysis and implement appropriate changes to mitigate repeat occurrence.
  • It would be ideal if you also had.

  • Experience undertaking incident management, ensuring stakeholder engagement and a consistent feedback loop.

  • Exposure too/awareness of payments or financial services.
