An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Endocrinology and Diabetes Department.


We are looking for an efficient, reliable and organised person to join the department as a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Co-ordinator who will be responsible for supporting patients' pathway of care.


This role is pivotal to the Endocrinology directorate in delivering non-elective clinical services by providing essential support to the clinical team in maintaining excellent patient care and service provision.


To actively track patient's progress according to well described pathways and to support the MDT to ensure patient treatment is identified; the required next steps are clearly actioned and treatment times are streamlined.

The post holder will be the first contact for any administrative queries related to patients' pathway of care.

You will need to have excellent organisational skills and high levels of communication to expedite appointments as necessary and support the department in meeting operational targets.

You will be based within our supportive admin team, and work closely alongside the consultants and other members of the clinical team.


The required training will be provided as specialist knowledge will be used to proactively influence tracking records and mitigate any obstacles or delays that may arise in the patient pathway.

The post holder will be responsible for collating all necessary information for each patient to be discussed at each meeting.

This will involve liaising with the relevant teams in order to support the pathway of care for each patient.


The post holder will strive to improve processes and implement change where required and is a position where they can suggest change to improve the smooth running of the MDT.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure smooth running of the MDT and distributing invites to required attendees.
  • Maintain clear records of patients to be discussed at the MDT.
  • Distribute list of cases and minute actions from the MDT
  • Identify patients who are not progressing on pathways, identify required actions and list for further discussion.
  • Ensure that results are available in a timely manner and uploaded onto the appropriate system; with all outcomes correctly documented onto Cerner.
  • Manage equipment provision for patients by tracking patient pathways, placing orders and processing the required payments.
  • Keeping track of the delivery status and keeping patients updated accordingly.
  • Ensure relevant appointments are booked for patients within the required timeframe.
  • Assist in data collection that will be required for the auditing purposes of the department.
