    Production Planner The Role

    Oversee and input into scheduling and timeliness of the production process for bespoke manufactured product orders to ensure the company meets all deadlines and on budget.

    Manage and drive project driven orders with production times that typically span between 3 and 8 weeks, requiring metalwork fabrication, finishing and final assembly.

    Manage material and equipment availability using ERP system SAP Business One to input production orders, create BOM's and manage data.

    Work continually with department supervisors/managers to plan and schedule orders flowing through and needing to flow through production.

    Monitor the overall situation, including incoming orders, supply chain problems, market changes and inventory issues, to minimize the impact on production.

    Collaborate with other departments and the management team to set production goals and generate reports on productivity, profitability and attainment.

    Main duties and responsibilities

    • Co-ordinate production of orders, overseeing and driving department supervisors to plan and schedule work based on priorities set.
    • Evaluate raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production, creating production orders and BOMs in SAP in good time.
    • Update the open order list daily, setting actions for relevant people and check all parties are keeping up to date on status.
    • Lead production meetings to keep on top of workload and ensure all team members are understanding of priorities and deadlines.
    • Support planning of proper coverage across each department, co-ordinating with supervisors.
    • Monitor costs quoted to ensure the production process stays within budget, and failures are fed back through to relevant people for continuous improvement.
    • Report on the production status, performance and any production issues to upper management
    • Handle production disruptions and productivity problems
    • Suggest ways to improve productivity and reduce costs
    People Management

    • Support and develop employees to meet the standards required of their roles and to achieve the aims and objectives of the company
    • Follow company processes and procedures to ensure fairness and consistency in managing people
    Quality & Continuous Improvement

    • Maintain quality standards and follow all processes and procedures
    • Endeavour to generate ideas for continuous improvement on how processes can be amended to improve efficiency, including production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product

    Salary: 30K to 35K
