Do you have experience as a Maintenance Operative or Handyman? Have you worked as a Maintenance assistant previously and want to use your skills in a Healthcare setting which has a direct impact on the wellbeing of your local community?

Meridian Business Support have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Maintenance Assistant for the Estates & Maintenance department at Gloucester Royal Hospital.

Hours of work:

The Maintenance Assistant role will include, but not be limited to:
Responsibility for routine planned maintenance,
Technical cleaning of M&E equipment,
Minor repairs of faults in mechanical and electrical installations,
Plant and equipment,
Plumbing and drainage,
Boilers/calorifiers,
Nurse call, portable equipment testing,
Lamp/fluorescent tube replacement.
Minor building fabric repairs,
Decoration of small areas/rooms as they become available,
Hanging/rehanging of notice boards/white boards,
General maintenance related cleaning duties,
Providing backup for craftsmen/contractors. Other specialist duties may also be required after appropriate training.

Essential Requirements:

Maintenance experience or similar at NVQ level 2 or above, with a base knowledge of mechanical systems.

An enthusiastic individual who is willing to do tasks as needed, you will need to be physically fit for moving, lifting, bending, etc, you will be responsible for your own work, health, and safety aware, methodical and reliable.

You will also need good organisational, practical and communication skills.
This is a temporary, ongoing role but could be permanent for the right person.
