    Registered Veterinary Night Nurse

An exciting opportunity has opened at Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals for a Night Veterinary Nurse to join our supportive team on a 12-Month contract. We promote a nurse-friendly atmosphere within AVR, with several RVNs holding senior management positions within the organisation.

You'll be embraced by a highly dedicated team of RVNs committed to delivering exceptional patient care standards. This role involves working independently, with a Veterinary Surgeon available on-call for assistance if required. Your main duty will be to provide exceptional care to referral inpatients, covering both medical and surgical aspects. This position is ideal for someone passionate about ward nursing and inpatient care. Overnight emergencies are handled by Vets Now.
We provide a generous CPD allowance and opportunities, and our shift pattern allows ample time for professional development pursuits.

You'll have the chance to work with diverse referral cases, primarily in orthopaedics, neurosurgery, and medicine. Our in-house facilities include a CT scanner, XR, and advanced surgical tools, supplemented by a visiting neurologist and MRI services.

    Work With Cutting-Edge Facilities

We boast spacious, contemporary, well-equipped facilities featuring expansive consulting rooms, two cutting-edge purpose-built surgical suites equipped with positive pressure air filtration systems, and an additional theatre for contaminated procedures.

Our team comprises dynamic, forward-thinking professionals who are friendly and supportive, including 5 Veterinary Surgeons specialising in Surgery and Medicine, alongside a fantastic group of 15 RVNs and 7 clinical support staff.
Our comprehensive services encompass a fixed CT scanner, DR radiography system, arthroscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy, and a complete range of orthopaedic equipment, supplemented by visiting MRI services. Our anaesthesia protocols routinely incorporate nerve blocks for most orthopaedic procedures.

Nestled in a stunning rural coastal area, our location offers exceptional lifestyle opportunities, with convenient access to winter sports facilities.

    Qualities We Seek

We seek a motivated and enthusiastic RVN to join our exceptional team. While referral experience is desirable, it's not mandatory as our successful candidate will undergo thorough training and receive support upon joining. Thus, we encourage applications from ambitious RVNs from both referral and first opinion backgrounds. A fantastic attitude and eagerness to acquire new skills are crucial, and we welcome RVNs dedicated to delivering top-tier patient care. Experience in out-of-hours care, ward nursing, and hospital settings would be beneficial.

    Working Hours

The role averages at 30hrs per week, following a 5 nights on / 9 nights off shift pattern. The nights on shift will fall on a Tuesday-Saturday every other week, and the shift times are 8.15pm-8.15am.

We recognise that our people are fundamental to the success of our business. Investing in our people, premises and processes is at the heart of what we do. In addition to a competitive base salary of £25,683 per annum, you will benefit from:
