Position Overview
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sample Dispatch Technician to join us. You'll take responsibility for supporting the day to day operations of the Sample Dispatch facilities.


This role is offered on full-time, temporary basis (12mths FTC, then permanent depending on performance in the role) and it's based at one of our major strategic partner's site in Cambridge.

Predominantly you will be based at Cancer Institute, but you willbe supporting Sample Dispatch across the Campus, so you need to be flexible to move between Anne Maclaren Building and Jeffrey Cheah Building.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Receive, pack, prepare and ship R&D samples (biological, chemical, radioactive etc) globally ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and transport regulations (air/road/sea)
  • Dispatch goods ensuring all relevant documentation is correct and meets GxP and Health and Safety standards.
  • Ensure that materials with special handling, storage, or distribution requirements (such as hazardous shipments and temperature sensitive material) are properly monitored
  • Receipt, replenishment, and distribution of inventory to meet end user demands, utilising industryleading inventory management technology to track usage and continually optimise stocking levels Ensure accuracy of data in the inventory system includinglocation, quantity on hand, value etc.

Experience Required

  • An understanding of materials management processes, including exposure to relevant H&S processes and the use of stock and inventory systems
  • Proficient in data capture and analysis activities using various software packages
  • Outstanding communication skills at all levels and the confidence to make decisions
