    Description

    We are recruiting for 3 Assistant Project Managers. The purpose of the role is to assist with the overall management of projects on behalf of TSP Engineering within the nuclear sector. Reporting to the Project Manager to aid successful delivery of Projects to schedule, quality and budget.

    Key Accountabilities:

    Assist Project Managers in developing project plans, schedules and deliverables. Maintaining a positive working relationship throughout the project duration whilst remaining commercial in any decisions.

    Provide a level of leadership and direction to Engineers, Project Planners, Manufacturing Teams and support staff in delivering Projects safely against schedule, budget and quality.

    Ensuring projects are aligned to and being delivered in accordance with the Business Management Systems.

    To identify potential risks and opportunities and actively resolve any issues affecting project delivery to time, cost and quality whilst referring significant issues to the Project Manager.

    Preparing project communication materials such as project reports, presentations and change documentation.

    Ensuring project schedules and costs are monitored and regularly reviewed alongside the Project Manager and that effective change control procedures are utilised throughout the project duration.

    Ensuring regular and effective communication with the client's project team.

    Qualifications:

    HND in a relevant mechanical engineering subject or equivalent practical mechanical engineering experience is desirable.

    APM PM Fundamentals qualification is desirable.

    Skills & Experience:

    Experience of working on projects in the nuclear industry.

    Possess skills and have exposure to project management with demonstrable experience in managing and delivering multi-discipline projects within a manufacturing environment.

    An appreciation of project management planning, estimating, risk identification, management and mitigation processes and their application across multi-disciplined teams.

    Experience in ensuring the adherence to client contracts and specifications.

    Experience in the management of packages of work or smaller projects.

    Experience in a Mechanical Engineering role or a similar technical role.

    Possess the ability to interpret project schedules and monitor progress.

    The ideal candidate will have a calm and logical approach, providing confidence to the wider project team and enabling and promoting good working practices. Previous experience in a Project Management role is desirable but not essential with the candidate showing good attention to detail, whilst being able to underpin this with a level of mechanical engineering knowledge and practice.

    Overall, the right candidate must be self-motivated, able to show initiative, and be flexible and prepared to work overtime where there is a business requirement.
