    About the Role

    Our seek an experienced and practicing Configuration Manager.

    We are now working in a hybrid way, with a mix of remote and office working.     You will be joining our team at an exciting time - we maintain the UK's National Time Scale, UTC (NPL), and are currently developing a that will underpin our Critical National Infrastructure. This will address the risks associated with our dependency on global navigation satellite systems (such as GPS) that are vulnerable to both natural and intentional interference.

    As Configuration Manager, you'll enjoy establishing, managing, and governing the operational delivery of Configuration Management of our nationally critical infrastructure. You'll be providing day-to-day support to multiple sites, responsible for delivering the UK's National Timescale.

    Key responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage the day-to-day activities of Asset and Configuration Management (CM) processes, including prioritisation and work assignments.
  • Responsibility for Pre-Production validation infrastructure and process, ensuring planning and review of updates prior to release
  • Following CM and change management procedures, checking compliance across staff
  • Identify configuration items and processes that are performing poorly and recommend improvement actions
  • Registration and release of configuration information
  • Producing Configuration Status Reports
  • Organise, manage and chair the Configuration Control Board (CCB) as well as pre- and post-CCB activities
  • Integrity and maintenance of configuration records, history and traceability
  • Inform hardware and software refresh strategy and policy
  • Ensure SLA/KPI's are met and informing line management of any risk to those deliverables, escalating as required
  • Manage, advise, guide the project and engineering team to provide optimal configuration results.
  • Supporting the Principal & Lead Project Engineer(s), Programme and Project Manager(s), Operations Team and Scientists as required
  • Participate in the phase reviews (PDR, CDR, etc) and in configuration audits (FCA and PCA)

    Reporting to an Operational Delivery Leader, you will follow Configuration Management processes, procedures and standards using Microsoft Office and Configuration Management tools

    To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

    Essential experience:

  • 5 Years + in the same or equivalent role
  • Experience using CM tools ( 3DS PLM, Oracle, etc)
  • Experienced in the use of CM processes and principles.
  • An appreciation of the full engineering project life cycle
  • Experience of configuration in virtual environments
  • Experience providing document structure and baseline reports
  • This role is based at our , in Teddington. National travel may be required.
