    We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join our growing charity that has been recognised as a "Great Place to Work" for the third year running.     Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) are charity owned and run by the FE sector. CPC provide members with a large number of EU tendered frameworks, procurement training and specialist advice on best spending practices, showing how educational institutions can obtain best value for money. We also offer a full portfolio of procurement consultancy services to the education sector and more recently, the wider public sector.

    Within this role you will work as part of the Contracting Team and you will be responsible for assigned frameworks, providing a full and professional customer-focussed service in relation to both general enquiries and procurement support requests.

    Job requirements

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Experience and knowledge of working within a procurement environment.
    • Awareness of the Public Sector Contracts Regulations and legislations such as Social Value, Data Protection and Contract Law.
    • Awareness of the procurement life cycle, including understanding tendering procedures.
    • Ability to manage supplier relationships and monitor contractor performance.
    • Basic knowledge of markets, commodity and products.
    • Customer and supply management experience; including experience of planning projects, documenting business needs and developing supplier evaluation criteria.
    • Willingness to progress through future training including CIPS.
    • Confidence in using Microsoft packages including Microsoft Office and a familiarity with Contracts Finder/Find a Tender.
    • An overall "can-do" attitude and team spirit

    • A salary banding between £26,000 to £33,000 FTE depending on experience.
    • Yearly discretionary performance related bonuses of up to £3,000.
    • Hybrid and flexible working with a requirement of the successful candidate to be able to attend Head Office in Salford 2 days per week.
