About you
You will have knowledge of Local Land Charges and the relevant legislation (Local Land Chares Act 1975 and associated legislation).
You will be self-motivated with the ability to accurately record, interpret and extract information from documents, map-based data and to assimilate new information quickly.
This role will suit someone has an eye for detail and is organised and accurate in their work being able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with people at all levels.
Good IT skills are required and knowledge of GIS systems would be a distinct advantage.About the role
The postholder will assist with maintaining and updating the Local Land Charges Statutory Register, carry out searches and respond to requests for information using the Land Charges computer and manual card index systems.
About the team
To support the Council's vision, the Land Charges team work to the corporate objective of
'Delivering Good Development'. To complement this, the team carries out vital local land and property searches required for conveyancing transactions. Land Charges is part of the wider planning services team at the Council, dealing with a wide range of other departments including Planning, Building Control and Environmental Health and will also assist members of the public and personal search companies.
The team have recently been shortlisted again for the Customer Satisfaction Award at Land Data's Local Land Charges Awards 2023.
