Production Operative / Trainee Weaver

Are you fascinated by the art of traditional carpet making and looking to embark on a career in weaving? Hiring Heroes is pleased to partner with an esteemed weaver in Dewsbury who is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team.

If you possess a passion for traditional weaving, a strong work ethic, and impeccable time management skills, this role may be the perfect fit for you

An induction is scheduled for Monday, September 11th at 11 am.

This will provide you with an opportunity to see the factory and meet the management before a start date is offered.


Role Responsibilities:
As a Production Operative / Trainee Weaver, your role will involve:

Training in the Cutting Area:
Learning from experienced professionals in the field.

Utilizing Looms:
Crafting carpets, which includes shearing seams and placing them on stem drums.

Mastering the Weaver's Knot:
Tying it to the right size to ensure there are no holes in the carpets.

Loom Handling:
Operating three looms, conducting quality checks, and changing 64 bobbin's within 15 minutes.

Contributing to Product Checks:
Ensuring the highest quality by participating in product checks and mending.

Machinery Adaptation:
Adapting to different machinery and looms, including wider looms for broader carpets.


What We're Looking For:
An interest in becoming a full-time weaver.

An outstanding work attitude, with a strong desire to learn and develop skills.

Strict adherence to timekeeping.

Compliance with safety regulations, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).


Working Hours:
Shifts: 7am - 3pm AND 3pm - 11pm, with a weekly rotating schedule from Monday to Friday.


Pay Rate:
£10.42 per hour


PPE Requirements:
Safety shoes, Hi-Viz vest, and earplugs are mandatory.


Note:
Mobile phones are allowed on site but not in work areas.
