    About the Role

    As the Purchasing Assistant you will take a leading role to deliver best in class purchasing across the plant and deputise when required. You will report directly into the Senior Plant Buyer, providing end to end operational and strategic support.

    Your Responsibilities


    •To provide support to a high performing purchasing team, delivering best in class purchasing across the plant.


    •To provide a full range of administration support to the business


    •Process Request for Spends and ensure they comply with Magna Purchasing Policies and Guidelines


    •Manage and develop purchasing documentation for Magna Exteriors Sunderland


    •Process supplier invoice queries


    •Assist and provide support to other departments with SAP issues and learning


    •Contract Management


    •Assist with direct & indirect cost negotiations


    •New Supplier Set ups


    •Co-ordinate meeting room bookings and assist with meeting preparations as required i.e., ordering of refreshments, photocopying of materials, etc.


    •Responsible for managing stationary inventory for site


    •Provide general administrative support to various functional areas such as Finance, HR, etc. as required in support of the business


    •Other general administrative duties as required for example booking travel, car rentals, hotel reservations, administering expenses, raising requisitions, organising Company events, etc.


    •Ensure a safe working environment and excellent housekeeping standards


    •Other duties commensurate to the role.

    Who we are looking for

    Essential


    •Bright forward-thinking individual wanting to progress and develop.


    •Experience with using SAP or a similar MRP or ERP software.


    •Experience setting up new suppliers


    •Can demonstrate on their CV and verbally key deliverables and achievements from working with suppliers


    •Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

    Desirable


    •Experience in supplier quality development


    •Formal training in negotiation skills


    •Working towards CIPS or at least the desire to pursue
