Description

We are looking for a CAP (CYP) who is passionate about working with young people and families to join Hounslow CAMHS Tier 3 Child & Family Team.


Through using psychological assessment, formulation based on theoretical psychological models, evidence-based intervention skills and means of evaluating change, you will be working with young people who present with significant emotional/behavioural difficulties and risk and their parents/carers.


You will be intervening at a key time in their lives, work that can be both challenging and immensely rewarding.

The team is supported by the trust-wide Alliance CAMH crisis care team, who work alongside clinicians to support young people in crisis, and an attached out of hours telephone support line.


Your role in the Child & Family Team (Hounslow Tier 3 CAMHS) will be undertake psychological assessments, collaboratively develop psychological formulations based on theoretical models, provide evidence based interventions (that were taught during your previous training) and evaluate clinical work.

In addition, you will spend some time each month supporting duty. You will receive clinical and line management supervision from a qualified psychologist.

There will be opportunities for teaching/training others and you may have the opportunity to undertake research within the team.


The CAP (CYP) role in Hounslow is based in the Child and Family Team, serving children and young people experiencing a severe and complex mental health difficulty where co-morbidity with other psychological and/or physical health difficulties may be a feature of their presentation.

You will be joining another qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist who is based in the Neurodevelopmental Team of Hounslow CAMHS.
