The apprentice advanced clinical practitioner role is typically a 3 year training programme and the post holder will be based as a paid employee, within LTHT.

The apprenticeship encompasses work based and academic learning, contributing towards gaining a masters degree in advanced clinical practice at an approved Higher Education Institute (HEI), alongside successfully completing a portfolio of competency based evidence practise and consolidation of knowledge within specialist area.

These competencies may be provided by your clinical service unit (CSU) or national competences depending on role.

The post holder will act as a role model to develop the knowledge to deliver advanced practice skills within their area, promoting patient centred clinical effectiveness in care, developing the skills to work autonomously in delivering independent assessment of undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations.

You will be practising under direct and indirect supervision within the CSU to provide patient-centred clinical care.

You will develop and build on your experience and skills to deliver specialist knowledge, underpinned by NHSE WT&EsHealth Education Englands four pillars of advanced clinical practice.
