    Role Purpose

    Supporting the MENA and South Asia (SA) School Exams teams in the implementation of the MENA/SA School Exams Strategy through supporting delivery of projects and initiatives in compliance with the British Council policies and procedures including financial administration, data collection and reporting as well as projects' operational delivery and managing relations with delivery partners.

    Main Accountabilities:

    Project Management

  • Support Projects Managers with standardising the project management process including creating templates/processes and teaching people how to use them
  • Support Projects Managers with the implementation including choosing the right methodology for their project, help them to build business cases where needed and provide accurate and reliable information to allow stakeholders to make the best possible decisions
  • Support Project Managers to provide a consolidated view of happening projects through developing tools to support clear information around budgets, forecasts, actuals, and margins across the whole portfolio of projects, consolidating all information and documents correctly and providing timely, accurate insights and real-time data to support project reporting.
  • Responsible for data management including timely data entry, quality assurance of data, undertaking basic analysis of monitoring data, and developing progress reports to meet stakeholders' needs
  • Support internal compliance such as due diligence, records management, data collection and storage
  • Market and Customer Intelligence

  • Develop good understanding of the market needs in the region
  • Support in conducting basic market research and competitors analysis to support insights into market potential and analysis of potential business opportunities
  • Ensure product/sector knowledge is up to date and forward thinking
  • Relationship and stakeholder management

  • Manage relationships with clients/partners/internal and stakeholders at appropriate level
  • Manage relationship with vendors and suppliers and hold them to account for delivering services
  • Commercial and Financial Management

  • Support with the development of systems/tools to support regular financial analysis and reporting as needed
  • Support with the development of systems/tools to collate performance data to monitor progress, ensure consistency and adherence, identify trends and develop support and improvement plans when needed
  • Maintain clear and up-to-date records on all financial transactions as per audit requirements
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure the expectations of partnership agreements are understood and signed off by all involved parties
  • Undertake contracts review and refresh
  • Ensure relationships with vendors are maintained and payments are processed on time and in accordance with FABS on-line system (SAP Finance) guidelines
  • Ensure compliance to British Council financial policies and procedures
  • Event management:

  • Identify client's requirements and expectations for each event
  • Support in identifying cost effective and quality vendors for the event
  • Manage needed logistics as per event plan including handling and coordinating all event operations as well as managing event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes
  • Maintain regular track of event expenses and budgets
  • Offer solutions to resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Assess an event's overall success and submit findings

  • Minimum/essential Requirements-

  • 2 years' experience working in a supporting role in programmes or projects
  • Experience of using technology in project delivery
  • Experience in financial administration
  • Good understanding of basic concepts of monitoring and evaluation, and how they are central to good project management
  • Takes a pro-active approach to identifying ways in which service can be improved, and takes these forward .
