Description

Proclinical are recruiting a Research Associate for a biotech organisation. This role is on a permanent basis and is located in the UK.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for designing innovative mRNA payloads for early research projects through to lead selection.
Produce and monitor plasmid production and IVT for mRNA production.
Support efforts on internal and outsourced projects, such as cloning, plasmid production, IVT, transfection, SDS-PAGE, Western, agarose gel, external sequencing, etc.
Manage sterile practice, preferably with mammalian cell culture.
Assist with crossfunctional efforts for plasmid and mRNA characterisation.
Other duties may be assigned to this role.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Educated to a degree level in a molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biology or similar field with at least 3+ years of experience in lab work.
Practical familiarity with common molecular biology practices such as Restriction digestion, Plasmid isolation, transformation, bacterial culture, PCR, RT-PCR, Vector design and Cloning, Agarose Gel electrophoresis, Mutagenesis, Sequence analysis, RNA isolation, In vitro transcription, PAGE-SDS, Protein extraction, Western blotting, Mammalian Cell culture, transfection, etc.
Presentation abilities with solid data visualisation skills.
Able to keep records.
Prior involvement with using ELN.
Acquaintance with molecular biology tools such as NGS bioinformatics, Benchling, Snapgene, and common bioinformatics tools.
