Legal Practice Assistant /Legal Secretary - (Dispute Resolution)

City of London

RANGING -£ 30,000 - £37,000 + Excellent Benefits including Bonus and Hybrid working

As aLegal Secretary/Practice Assistant your responsibilities will include:

  • Effective and proactive diary management including planning and awareness of the Fee Earner's workload. Setting up appointments and travel arrangements as required
  • Opening and closing new client matters and carrying out due diligence checks. Preparing AML documentation and obtains relevant documentation from clients in a timely manner, as required by Fee Earners including conflict searches
  • Creating typed work of a high quality, formatting in accordance with house style, at high speed, with accuracy and following internal guidelines
  • Providing assistance in the delivery of marketing communications, and records all business development meetings in InterAction
  • Providing excellent service to clients, both internal and external, in a timely and professional manner, presenting a positive image of the Firm at all times
  • Monthly billing and invoice preparation for the Fee Earners
  • Document production as required, proofreading, track changes/amendments
  • Researching new clients/contacts and collating papers required for client meetings, and conducting basic research for the fee earners
  • Maintaining regular file management, to ensure all files are up to date, closed and archived, as appropriate and keeping accurate records of all files and sending to offsite storage
  • Preparing ebundles bundles as appropriate

Personal Competencies:

You will need to be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, delivering a high-quality and efficient service


You will also have:
-
Previous or current secretarial experience ideally working in the practice area of disputes and/or contentious trusts/contentious probate/court of protection:

  • Are flexible, reliable, co-operative and has a professional approach to work
  • Works as a positive, friendly, and helpful team player
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage conflicting workloads, prioritise well and work to deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a team in a collaborative manner
  • MS Office knowledge and minimum typing speeds of 60wpm
  • Have Transferable systems skills or ideally knowledge of InterAction, Intapp or BigHand
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE's Grade C or above or equivalent
